The aha moment usually happens during a puff of smoke, which is familiar to the vast majority of vapers (usually when you realize you have another vaping question that you don’t know the answer to).
We are talking about the time you realized that you had broken away from your previous smoking habit and successfully switched to vaping.
Of course, it certainly wasn’t an easy task, so congratulations! Now, you probably did your research before making your decision, and you must have browsed through a lot of resource articles and forums trying to understand the choice you were about to make.
There’s no shame in that; finding answers to questions is always a good thing, and there’s nothing wrong with not knowing the answers right away. Still, we were curious, so we took a look around the world of vaping online to see what people were asking.
From basic questions like how do e-cigarettes work or how many puffs can I take in a day to the weird and wacky, these are the questions we thought were the most interesting.
1. Will vaping cause tooth loss?
Switching from cigarettes to vaping can be beneficial to your oral health .
If you are new to this, switching from cigarettes to e-cigarettes makes this vaping issue much easier to understand.
After all, long-term smokers are more likely to suffer from gum disease, tooth loss, and, in severe cases, oral cancer than nonsmokers. They are also more likely to have dental problems and have a greater chance of dental implant failure.
However, if you switch to e-cigarettes, the likelihood of these happening won’t be the same.
Switching from cigarettes to e-cigarettes can improve your oral health, according to a recent study. So, your teeth won't fall out.
You may notice that your gums have begun to recede. However, this can be prevented by switching to nicotine-free e-liquids. As you continue on your #NoSmoke journey, quitting smoking completely will become more achievable and help your long-term oral health.
2. Can I drink e-cigarette liquid?
Never, ever, ever drink e-liquid . Want to try it? Go ahead!
No. No. Absolutely not. Why would you even consider this?
Do not, under any circumstances, drink e-liquid – even if it looks like it would go well with your tapau, just because it smells good doesn’t mean you can taste it.
Common e-cigarette liquids contain 30 to 50 mg of nicotine, which is harmful to the body when taken in. As the saying goes, a person who takes in about 50 to 60 mg of nicotine may actually rest in peace forever.
If you're thirsty, stick to water, juice, coffee, or other beverages. If you want to taste the e-liquid, turn it into vapor first .
Let me say it again: Don’t drink your e-liquid, boss. We mean it.
3. Will vaping cause weight gain?
Vaping won’t change your weight .
With so many flavors on the market , it’s easy to associate sweetness with calories. However, there is no proven link between vaping and weight gain. 1 ml of e-liquid contains about 5 calories. This is a negligible amount compared to a snack or meal.
You don't consume calories when you vape. The calories listed on the e-liquid are just the energy value of the substance. Don't worry. There is no evidence that vaping causes weight gain.
4. Why does my e-liquid taste like soap?
Damaged taste buds, uninfused e-liquid, and poorly made e-liquid can all be to blame .
You might think this is a strange question, but it’s one that many people have asked, and there’s more than one possible answer.
The longer you smoke, the more likely it is that your taste buds will become damaged. This means you may have trouble distinguishing subtle flavors , or even confuse common flavors.
If this happens to you, you can rest assured that given enough time, your taste buds will recover from the effects of smoking, and you can even temporarily switch to mint-flavored e-liquid until your taste buds return to normal.
Another possible reason is that you haven't "soaked" the e-liquid long enough. If you don't know how to do that, just keep the closed e-liquid bottles in a cool, well-ventilated place for a long time and shake them from time to time.
In fact, some e-cigarette users like to let their juice soak for several weeks. This process allows you to get the best flavor when using your device .
If that still doesn't work, clean the unit and replace the coils to see if that makes a difference. If your juice still tastes soapy, it's time to switch to something better.
The next time you have a question about e-cigarettes that you're uncomfortable asking, look to scientific research for answers. That way, you can be sure that what you read is accurate.
And please, don’t drink e-cigarette fluid.
